February 13, 2011

Dannii Minogue has confessed she thought having a baby "would make me crazy". The X Factor judge, mum to seven-month-old Ethan, says she has no time to exercise any more because of her hectic schedule being an X Factor judge, a mum and fashion label boss. Speaking about motherhood, she says: "I love, love, love it." But she added: "I never thought I was very maternal and I thought having a baby would make me crazy. "But Ethan is so calm and relaxed all the time that he makes me more relaxed." Speaking to the Sunday Herald Sun newspaper in Melbourne, her home town, she also told how she is currently filming an episode for the reality show, Project Runway. "I had a fried egg sandwich for breakfast and they made us walk up stairs yesterday for filming, so that is the extent of my exercise regimen now. "I think it's because looking after the baby and hours of work for me, plus I think I just have that kind of metabolism." Dannii and her partner Kris Smith have been joined in Melbourne by her business partner Tabitha Somerset-Webb, with whom she runs the Project D fashion label....

Dannii Minogue: 'Motherhood is a career'
February 18, 2011

Dannii Minogue believes that people should accept that motherhood is a career in its own right. The 39-year-old X-Factor judge and her partner Kris Smith welcomed son Ethan last year, and she revealed that she had no idea how much she would learn from becoming a mum. She told Marie Claire magazine, "It has always riled me when I hear someone say 'Oh, so you don't have a career, you are just a mother!' It is the most important career you could have! I love it when other parents come up to me and say 'Welcome to the club.' "The great thing is you have to be a parent to understand all the things you have ever heard about being a parent. I suddenly have a deep understanding of how a mum feels when you have to go to work and your little one is not well. "Your whole being just wants to be with them to make everything better - that's hard. But the good thing is that I can take him with me. He's with me in the dressing room, so it's not like I don't see him for seven days a week, which I couldn't bear."...

February 22, 2011

Dannii Minogue has revealed that she is almost back to her pre-pregnancy weight. The X-Factor judge gave birth to son Ethan seven months ago and said that she wanted to make sure that she lost the weight slowly. Speaking to Woman's Day magazine, the 39-year-old said: "I have just about lost all of the pregnancy weight, but I haven't been exercising much. I haven't had the time or the energy. I've done one exercise session! But running around burns calories and so does the no-sleep thing. "When I got pregnant, I started eating sweet things for the first time and I haven't stopped. I read this article that said I was on turkey broth and crazy exercising every day. I don't eat meat and I've been eating lemon pie."...

Dannii Minogue: 'I don't know what my occupation is'
February 25, 2011

Dannii Minogue has admitted that she doesn't know how to define herself anymore. The 38-year-old Australian mother-of-one started out as an actress before moving into singing. She has since sat as a judge on the X-Factor, written a book, created a fragrance and designed fashion line, and said that she has no idea how to label her career. She told the Herald Sun, "I was flying to the US to do some film work and I was filling in one of those customs declaration forms that they insist on and in the occupation box I didn't know what to write down, so I ended up saying I was an entertainer and the customs guy said, 'Oh really, entertainer' so I said to him, 'I'm a judge on The X-Factor, I have records, I've written a book and done some acting and I've got a reality TV show coming out... if you have a better word, let's hear it' and he said, 'Entertainer it is'."...
